David Essery – Senior Developer
David is our Senior Web Developer. He has been working in the industry for 6 years, during which time he has become fluent in 6 programming languages and worked with over a dozen different Content Management and eCommerce systems. David has a passion for usability and strives to make all his websites work for both its website administrators and its visitors.
When David isn't working he has a passion for music and enjoys playing Delta Blues on his shiny steel Dobro guitar.
Diarmid Langley – Senior Designer & Studio Manager
Diarmid is a designer with 20+ years’ experience in the industry. In that time he has worked in a wide variety of fields including branding & identity, design for print, packaging, display and exhibition graphics, websites and probably a lot more he’s forgotten about – he’s even won a few design awards along the way! He has a passion for developing design solutions that really work hard for the client and that are visually captivating, and brings his wide and varied skillset to any and every project.
Outside of work, he has a passion for architecture and 60s design. He also loves to spend time exploring the great outdoors, especially with his family. If that should happen to coincide with a nice refreshing pint at a country pub, so much the better!
Ross Breckenridge – Managing Director
Ross joined bandv in 2008, having gained an MA in Multimedia Journalism from Bournemouth University and worked for 5 years in event production and sales.His role as Business Development Manager has a straightforward remit – work hard to understand new and existing clients’ business goals and put into place awesome strategies to help get them there. As part of that he has particular interest in making business websites work harder and smarter. Inbound marketing, email marketing, SEO, PPC, social – understanding and integrating all the great technology available.
In his spare time music and sport are his two loves, so if he’s not watching or playing football or tennis you’ll probably find him at a gig or festival. He also loves a charity challenge!
Helen Berners – Copywriter & PR
Helen entered the world of Copywriting after a riotous few years at Art College where she managed to emerge as a qualified Illustrator. This is her second stint at bandv, a bad-penny return (some may say) after some happy wanderings about agencies in the Midlands and Hampshire, interspersed with bouts of freelance. What does she do? Persuade people to buy products and/or services, or influence their beliefs and actions – using words in the form of press releases, advertisements, direct mail, web content etc. etc. etc.
Free time? Walker, watcher, cyclist, opera lover, film fan, book reader, scribbler and dauber.
Angela Breckenridge – PR Director
Angela started her working days as a graphic designer with a BA in Visual Communications from Bath Academy of Art. After many years of designing for local agencies and selling advertising space she moved into a PR role at a primary school. Angela then trained as a primary teacher and taught in Southampton. Whilst resting from this job she popped in to help out bandv in a busy period and never left! Her role has grown and grown (she really must learn to say ‘no’) and now, alongside her PR role, she books advertising schedules, looks after key clients and supports Colin.
Outside of work Angela partakes in a little yoga, gardening, theater but most of all her latest love is spending time with her grandchildren!
Emma Appleton – Administration Manager
Emma has been with bandv since 2004, initially as a telemarketer. Over the years she’s become Admin Manager, a role that comprises organizing Colin’s diary, invoicing, keeping client budget spreadsheets updated, networking, managing the company diary and generally keeping the office ticking over. Emma has always worked in a co-ordination/administration role and her attention to detail and friendly, positive attitude means she is a key member of the bandv team. She’s always up for trying new tasks and enjoys learning new skills.
Outside of work, Emma is a qualified hairdresser, but most of her time is taken up with her 3 sons and Izzy the border terrier, decorating, socializing with friends and DIY – she certainly likes to keep busy!
Jayne West – Production Manager
Jayne joined bandv in 1995 for one week’s freelance and has never left. She initially joined to produce print-ready artwork – the designer in those days still preferring to doodle on sheets of paper! In 2001 Jayne came back to work part time and turned her attentions to production. Booking in jobs, organizing quotations for print, sending out advertising and PR to publications and sorting invoices are just a few of her duties.
Whatever free time is taken up with dog walking, being a teenager’s taxi service and planning her next holiday!
Colin Breckenridge – Chairman
Colin started the company in 1983, when the creative work was produced at the drawing board and assembled by hand using Rotring pens, pencils, magic markers and scalpels. Starting purely as a design agency Colin realized the need for the company to take on a wider range of services including Advertising, PR, Web Design and latterly Digital Marketing and to embrace technology as it has developed over the last 30 years. As a family owned and run business his key goal is to ensure the continuity and growth of bandv with his son Ross, who will take over running the company.
Having trained as a graphic designer at Bath Academy of Art and then in fine art printmaking at The Bradford College, Colin is looking forward to spending more time on his own creative work as well as getting a respectable golf handicap.
Shawn Harding – SEO & PPC Manager
Shawn is our Google-certified digital marketer who specialises in getting our clients more leads through search engine optimisation and pay per click advertising. He has attended many seminars held by Google to ensure he is constantly aware of any algorithm changes and how to best optimise content for the search engine. As well as being officially recognised by Google for his knowledge in both Search & Display advertising, Shawn creates content for YouTube, which has formed many business relationships with many of the top influencers on the platform.
When he isn’t helping our clients with their websites or advertising campaigns, he can be found at live music gigs, designing and setting off professional firework displays or trying to earn himself another Guinness World Record.
Mark Underwood – SEO & PPC Executive
Mark joined bandv in early 2016. A Hubspot Partner with additional certifications in Google Search, Display and Mobile advertising, Mark is a key member of the SEM team.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys nature photography, playing & modding video games and walks through the forest with his fianceé.
Nicole Prema – PR Account Manager
Nicole is our PR Account Manager and the latest addition to join the bandv team. A graduate with a BA degree in Journalism from Southampton Solent University, Nicole is passionate about putting the pizazz into PR.
With substantial experience of generating PR opportunities for clients and working on all elements of PR campaigns; Nicole loves to write. From press releases and editorial for magazines to case studies and client newsletters; she loves nothing more than producing engaging copy across a multitude of platforms to reach her desired target audience.
Having worked in various PR and communication roles over the last few years, Nicole is now keen to take on new challenges in her PR Account Manager position with bandv.
Outside of work Nicole enjoys spending time with family and friends and, as a massive foodie loves nothing more than visiting new restaurants and sampling different styles of cuisine. She also enjoys taking long walks in the countryside and loves to travel whenever she gets the opportunity.
Sam Hemphill - Business Development Manager
Sam is our Business Development Manager and the latest addition to join the bandv team
Sam has previously worked as a graphic designer and within a Production and artwork role within both a marketing and book-packaging environment which has left him with a strong passion for good design and an eye for detail.
Sam also has experience of working in a digital sales role as well as a Business Development Manager position within a fast-paced marketing agency, making him the perfect choice for bandv. Sam loves nothing more than meeting new people and building and maintaining strong relationships.
With a keen sense of adventure, Sam loves to travel and has even previously lived overseas in New Zealand. In his spare time, Sam is a keen rugby and football fan and has a passion for fine art, photography and enjoys collecting graphic novels.
